Instructions

Apache Kylin 5 JDBC from Power BI, SQL Server Linked Server via ZappySys Data Gateway, Crystal Reports, SSRS, Azure Data Factory, and other ODBC tools. User and password are the Kylin REST user (the same account you use in the Kylin web UI), not a Hadoop principal unless you configured that.

  1. Note the Kylin query/REST host and HTTP port (default 7070) and the project name.
  2. In the Kylin web UI create (or reuse) a user with query permission on that project. Paste user and password here. Do not use a personal employee login for unattended refresh.
  3. The wizard downloads kylin-jdbc 5.0.4 (shaded). After Finish, replace the host (e.g. MyHostName) and project in the JDBC URL.
  4. Finish the wizard. Then click Test Connection on the DSN Main UI (the wizard does not run Test Connection).
  5. Done. You can query from C#, Python, PowerShell, and ODBC apps.
