Using the ZappySys ODBC Driver for REST APIs, you can connect to Birdeye APIs, query data with SQL, and load it directly into Power BI dashboards without writing custom connector code.<\/p>\n

This tutorial shows how to create an ODBC DSN for the Birdeye API, preview data, connect Power BI, and build analytics using custom SQL queries.<\/p>\n

Prerequisites<\/h2>\n

  1. A Birdeye account with API access enabled.<\/li>\n
  2. Power BI Desktop installed on your machine.<\/li>\n
  3. Basic understanding of SQL and Power BI data modelling.<\/li>\n
  4. Finally, install the ZappySys ODBC Driver<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Steps<\/h2>\n

    Get Birdeye API Key<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Sign in to your Birdeye account<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Open API settings in your Birdeye admin portal.<\/li>\n
    3. Generate or copy your API key.\n
    4. Store the API key securely and do not expose it in logs or shared files.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Create a new ODBC DSN using ZappySys JSON Driver.<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. Search for ODBC<\/strong> in the Windows Start menu and open ODBC Data Source Administrator<\/strong>.

      2. In the User DSN<\/strong> or System DSN<\/strong> tab, click Add<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Select ZappySys JSON Driver<\/strong> and click Continue<\/strong>.

        Configure the Connection and API Settings<\/h3>\n

        1. Enter the base URL:

        2. In Connection Type<\/strong>, select HTTP<\/strong> and click Configure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        3. Select Static token\/API key<\/strong>\u00a0for Credential type<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        4. Use x-api-key<\/strong> in the Auth header name.<\/strong><\/li>\n
        5. In Auth Scheme<\/strong>, select {none}<\/strong><\/li>\n

              3. Click More…<\/strong>, search for ODBC<\/strong>, and click Connect<\/strong>.\n
              4. Select your Birdeye ODBC DSN from the dropdown list.<\/li>\n
              5. Optionally, enter a custom SQL query in Advanced options<\/strong>.\n
              6. Click OK<\/strong>, then click Load<\/strong> to import data.\n
